Technical Requirements

Please be sure you have the appropriate technology requirements before enrolling in an online course. Familiarity with your personal computer, its programs and its operating system will help you succeed as an online student. The University of Nevada, Reno uses WebCampus for its online courses. Students enrolled in online independent learning courses will need access to a computer with a printer and access to the Internet. We recommend a computer running Windows 95 or higher or Macintosh OS 10 or higher, a printer, access to the Internet and a supported Web browser installed. To see if your browser is functional with WebCampus, visit: www.webct.com/tuneup/. Knowing how to use email and navigate the Internet is essential. Students must be able to send messages to their instructor, post assignments, communicate with other students and reach the online classes’ web pages. Students registering for online courses must have the computer skills necessary to participate in and complete a course on the Internet, as well as uninterrupted Internet access.
